A power of attorney is a notarized document that gives an appointed agent the power to act on someone else's behalf in legal or business matters. Powers of attorney are especially important if a loved becomes hospitalized or incarcerated because they may physically be unable to handle necessary transactions.
If a power of attorney is required to handle financial matters it is best to check with the bank to verify that they will accept the POA. Some banks require their own power of attorney to be notarized.
If you or a loved one require a mobile notary to notarize your power of attorney in the greater Long Beach area please contact The Document Diva @ (562) 314-4319.
*Note - Powers of attorney only deal with financial matters. You will need a health care directive notarized to appoint an agent to handle health related issues.
