One of my favorite areas of law is trust and estate planning. Unfortunately, many people fail to put together an estate plan that helps to ensure their affairs are in order should they get sick or pass away. On many occasions, I have been called at the last minute to hospitals and nursing homes to notarize vital documents. And unfortunately, sometimes it is too late if the person is incapacitated.
